Spinacre makes all to slam rivals

The Kevin Prendergast-trained two-year-old filly Spinacre and Willie Mullins’ mare Tarla proved the stars of yesterday’s action in Roscommon.

Spinacre makes all to slam rivals

Spinacre earned a crack at either the Group 3 Round Tower Stakes or the listed Blenheim Stakes at the Curragh next month when making all to slam nine rivals in the opening maiden, scoring impressively by ten lengths.

The Verglas filly was initiating a double for jockey Chris Hayes, successful later on Marlos Moment in the Flat V National Hunt Jockeys Challenge, which the jump riders won narrowly 34 -33.

Willie Mullins' odds-on favourite Tarla (a third winner in two days for Emmet Mullins) justified 4/5 favouritism in the roscommonracecourse.ie Hurdle.

The mare dictated the pace and was left clear when market rival Moon Dice, disputing the lead, crashed at the third last, leaving Tarla to score by twenty lengths.
