Wait And See, who also took the Abbeyfeale Derby last month, quickened clear to beat last year’s winner Medicean Woman by three lengths.

There was a double for the locally based Castle Racing with Credit Crunch and Pablo Excobar while Aileen Daly’s Newmarket yard sent out Farmer Boyce to run out an impressive winner of the 14.2 contest, his third win in succession.

In the harness racing six heats were held — three in the Paddy Connolly Memorial and three in the Heineken Ireland Sulky Grand Prix. The finals will be held today with six horses from yesterday’s heats qualifying for each final.
