Another Famous win on the cards

Famous Name, at his favourite track, is impossible to oppose in the Group 3 Jockey Club Of Turkey Meld Stakes at Leopardstown tonight.

He has already won eleven times round here and, with the likely soft ground very much in his favour, it will be surprising should Dermot Weld’s colt fail to deliver.

The seven-year-old’s latest success came in another Group 3, this time at the Curragh, when cruising to a three and three quarter lengths defeat of Defining Year, with Native Khan third and Windsor Palace fourth. Those three horses renew rivalry with the selection, but considering the weights are exactly the same then it is difficult to envisage any of them getting in any sort of blow.
