Ballyroan Stakes may be next for Blue Corner
Michael Halford’s colt won a maiden at the Curragh by five lengths and was sent off favourite to follow up but was narrowly beaten by Aidan O’Brien’s Warwick Avenue.
Sheikh Mohammed’s son of Teofilo put up a good show considering he is apparently a good ground horse and Halford would have no qualms about stepping him up in class.
“I was delighted with him as conditions weren’t ideal,” said the Co Kildare handler.
“He’ll come on for it, he’s come out of it really well and hopefully we’ll get a bit of better ground next time. When he gets on better ground there’s more to come from him.
“He could maybe go for the Ballyroan but it will be a little bit ground dependent.
“I was anxious to get him out last week as he’d been ready to run for a little while. Those colts can boil over if you’re not careful.”
