Fluidity fancied to defy top weight
The gelded son of Pastoral Pursuits makes a quick reappearance, having scored in impressive fashion at Navan on Saturday, and Lyons really had no choice but to turn him out again quickly.
At Navan the selection was ridden with restraint by Emmet McNamara, before arriving in the straight absolutely running away.
McNamara allowed him lead about two furlongs down and Fludity soon powered clear to beat Purple by eight lengths.
It was a much-improved display and seemed to owe plenty to the tactics adopted and the soft ground.
Fluidity runs here under a mandatory 5lbs penalty, he goes up 16lbs in the future, and the softer the surface the more confident one would be that he’ll deliver.
John Oxx’s once-raced Hay Point gets the nod in the Wednesday Evening Racing At Fairyhouse Maiden.
She made her debut at the Curragh last month, finishing five lengths and two and a half lengths third behind the imposing Blue Corner and Something Graceful.
The form is modest, but Hay Point can only improve and the extra two furlongs now should work in her favour.
Andrew Oliver has his team in good shape and Tiger Stripes can be another for him in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Auction Maiden.
He may have only finished ninth of 12 behind Aidan O’Brien’s Lines Of Battle at the Curragh on his debut, but ran well for a long way and that looked a far better contest than this.
