O’Shea joins forces with Rooney to buy racehorse

Ireland defender John O’Shea, below left, has teamed up with England striker Wayne Rooney to purchase a racehorse — and he’ll be going into action imminently.

Trainer Elaine Burke confirmed the as-yet-unnamed new purchase to be in action soon.

Rooney and his wife, Coleen, have not made the greatest start to their exploration into ownership with Cheshire trainer Tom Dascombe as their first runner, Pippy, finished last on his debut at Chester and their second, Tomway, has not done much better.
