Ruby rushes to hurdles treble

Ruby Walsh completed a treble in the quickest possible fashion as he took the opening three maiden hurdles at Killarney yesterday.

Shamkhal, who drifted from 11/4 out to 5/1 on-course, was his first winner in the opening Killarney Towers 4yo’s Maiden Hurdle for trainer Tony Martin.

This French import came with his challenge on the outside at the last and stayed on best on the run-in to score by a neck from the 11/4 favourite Bulgaden in second.
