Larry Murphy continued to gain admirers and the 21-year-old Knockanard amateur partnered his second career two-timer at yesterday’s well-attended Bartlemy point-to-point fixture at Hightown.

Murphy makes mark with Bartlemy double

The stylish Murphy got off the mark by attaining his initial success for Robert Tyner aboard Dromahane confined hunt maiden victor Presenting Rebel (5/1) in the winners of one. Lonesome Glory appeared to be holding the whip hand at the final of the 14 obstacles, but the Patient Syndicate-owned Presenting Rebel stayed on well under a strong drive to lead in the shadow of the post en-route to beating Lonesome Glory by a head.

Murphy brought up his two-timer aboard owner/trainer Fran Stone’s mare Shanella (8/1) in the closing seven-year-old maiden. Shanella, the only animal that Ardpatrick-based chiropractor Ms Stone currently has in harness, led from the third last to dismiss The Legislator by a comprehensive four lengths.
