Oxx aims for Vase glory with Call To Battle

John Oxx is hopeful of a good run from Call To Battle in today’s MBNA Chester Vase after finishing a fine second in the Ballysax Stakes at Leopardstown last month.

“He’s got some good form and showed some progressive form as a two-year-old,” said Oxx.

“He ran a nice race in the Ballysax on his comeback and we are anxious to step him up to a mile and a half which is why he is going over rather than run in the Derrinstown on Sunday.
