Thornton back later this week

Jockey Andrew Thornton is expected to be back in action later this week after escaping with just soft tissue damage when riding Donatis Comet at the Curragh on Monday.

The Irish Grand National-winning rider thought he might have suffered a fracture during the Keadeen Hotel Wedding Specialists Handicap.

The 10-furlong handicap was delayed when several stalls failed to open which resulted in a false start.
