Tipperary handicap cancelled

THE Turf Club announced yesterday that, following a course inspection at Tipperary, the one mile four furlongs flat track was unfit for racing, following heavy overnight rain.

Racing is scheduled to take place there tomorrow and so the Join The Tipperary Supporters’ Club 2012 Handicap has been cancelled and the Follow @ Tipperary Races On Twitter Maiden Hurdle will be divided to form a seven-race programme. The ground at the track is described as soft on the hurdle course and soft to heavy on the sprint track.

The Turf Club also decided that, due to the large number of entries, the point-to-points at Fairyhouse and Dromahane next Sunday will start at the earlier times of 12.30.
