Fehily in good form after surgery

Noel Fehily was last night recovering well in hospital following surgery on the leg he injured in the fall on State Of Play in Saturday’s John Smith’s Grand National at Aintree.

Fehily, who fractured his right leg in three places, tweeted: “Op went well. Had a rod put through my tibia from knee to ankle. More comfortable now.”

Meanwhile, Nathan Cook, the conditional jockey airlifted to Cardiff General Hospital following a fall at Ffos Las on Sunday, is “fine” and will be back at work later this week.
