Breeders’ Cup date unlikely for Frankel

Henry Cecil does not have the Breeders’ Cup in the forefront of his mind as a way for Frankel to end his career.

The trainer has hinted that the Qipco Champion Stakes at Ascot might be a suitable way for Frankel to bow out, but he has not even yet tested his capabilities over further than a mile.

“The Breeders’ Cup is not ruled out completely but I’d think it would be a second thought at the moment,” he said.
