Beef can bring rivals to heel

BEEF To The Heels is the nap choice to leave a serious bout of seconditis behind by landing the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Maiden Hurdle at Clonmel this afternoon.

He has now finished runner-up four times in-a-row and a sequence like that usually means a horse arrives with a government health warning attached!

But the six-year-old appears to be totally genuine and has simply been beaten by better horses — at least most of the time — along the way, including the subsequent Naas Grade 2 winner Felix Yonger at Downpatrick.
