Shakalaka set to miss Marsh Chase

TRAINER Nicky Henderson has warned that Shakalakaboomboom, bet365’s 6-1 favourite for the Peter Marsh Chase at Haydock, is likely to miss Saturday’s contest in favour of an option at Doncaster a week later.

The eight-year-old, who runs in the colours of Liam Breslin, entered the John Smith’s Grand National reckoning by winning over 3m 1½f on good ground at Cheltenham in November, but could find the Haydock conditions against him.

“He’s more likely to wait forthe Sky Bet Chase at Doncaster,” said Henderson.
