Hughes: Magnanimity set for Hennessy run

DESSIE HUGHES is looking forward to saddling Magnanimity in the Irish Hennessy Gold Cup next month after being delighted with his comeback run at Leopardstown.

The eight-year-old put in a good performance until the lack of a recent outing took its toll and he faded out of contention to finish eighth of nine behind Synchronised in the Lexus Chase last week.

It was his first start since he suffered a serious leg injury when finishing a close fourth to Bostons Angel in the RSA Chase at last season’s Cheltenham Festival in March.
