Hughes: Magnanimity set for Hennessy run
The eight-year-old put in a good performance until the lack of a recent outing took its toll and he faded out of contention to finish eighth of nine behind Synchronised in the Lexus Chase last week.
It was his first start since he suffered a serious leg injury when finishing a close fourth to Bostons Angel in the RSA Chase at last season’s Cheltenham Festival in March.
“We were very pleased with him. He’s come out of the race well,” said the County Kildare trainer.
“It was a good run for his first one back because he had a big problem after Cheltenham where he broke a bone in his leg.
“He’s come out of the race sound so we’re very happy with him. He’ll run in the Hennessy. It was a decent enough run and we’ll get him ready for that now.”
