Cue could play his cards at Plumpton
After an impressive chasing debut at Chepstow, the five-year-old parted company with jockey Joe Tizzard at Cheltenham before going down by a short-head to Bobs Worth at Newbury.
He is engaged in the Grade Two totepool Novices’ Chase at Ascot but the lure of a potential bonus for winning at Plumpton and Cheltenham is tempting trainer Colin Tizzard to go there instead.
“We’re just weighing up what to do at the moment. We have a couple of options,” said the trainer.
“He’s in the race at Ascot on Friday and I’ve also entered him at Plumpton on Monday as they are putting a £60,000 bonus up for any horse that wins there and goes on to win at Cheltenham.
“The Plumpton race might be the easier option and that might be the right thing to do at this stage, but we’ll see later in the week.
“Everything has been absolutely fine since Newbury. He’s been very straightforward.”
