Europe heads list for Down Royal feature
Henry de Bromhead’s stable star was runner-up to Kauto Star in the three-mile feature 12 months ago before dropping back to two miles to win the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham in March.
Kauto Star’s trainer Paul Nicholls is looking to The Nightingale this time and he was also successful on this card in 2010.
Neil Mulholland’s Midnight Chase, fifth in the Cheltenham Gold Cup, as well as Colin Tizzard’s Hey Big Spender are other hopefuls from Britain.
A quality card includes Jessica Harrington’s Bostons Angel, winner of the RSA Chase at Cheltenham, Robbie Hennessy’s Rubi Light and the Dessie Hughes-trained Rare Bob with Michael Bowe’s Coolcashin also entered.
Colm Murphy has left in Quito De La Roque while Gordon Elliott’s Roi Du Mee is also in there.
Both have the alternative of the Ladbrokes.com Chase on the same programme.
