First Lieutenant set for Cork assignment

FIRST LIEUTENANT, already as low as 8-1 for the RSA Chase at Cheltenham in March, will continue his education over fences at Cork on Sunday.

Mouse Morris’ six-year-old won at the Festival last season and made a faultless winning debut over the bigger obstacles at Tipperary recently.

Morris, who trained Gold Cup winner War of Attrition for owner Michael O’Leary’s Gigginstown House Stud, is a big believer in getting as much experience as possible into his younger horses.
