Moore ready to return

RYAN Moore is planning to take just a handful of rides when he returns to the saddle next week to ensure he is at the peak of his powers aboard Workforce in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

Moore has been sidelined since sustaining a broken humerus and thumb in a fall at Glorious Goodwood, but he was reunited with Workforce in a racecourse gallop at Sandown on Tuesday and is ready to return to competitive action.

Michael Stoute’s colt will be going for back-to-back victories in the Longchamp showpiece on Sunday week and Moore is confident his mount will show his true colours having been beaten as favourite in the King George on his latest start.

“The Arc is still the target and we’ll ride at some point next week,” Moore told Channel 4 Racing. “We won’t be taking many rides – we’ll be building to it very slowly and making sure we’re very fresh and everything is working as best it can do for that day.”
