Davy Condon took the riding plaudits, completing a double on Never A Secret, trained in Nobber, Co Meath by Hugh Finegan in the Moate Handicap Hurdle and Granaruid, which belatedly got off the mark in the Midlands Breeders Supporting Kilbeggan Beginners Chase.
An eight-year-old, 21 race maiden, Granaruid was a third winner in two days for trainer Michael Halford, jumping into the lead at the second last before beating Imperial Shabra by five and a half lengths.

The bumper produced a shock, with the Kieran Purcell-trained favourite Bridget’s Pet (Mikey Fogarty) unable to get to grips with 20/1 shot Murphy's Friend, trained by Pat Fahy and ridden by his son Conor. Half a length separated the pair at the line, after a protracted battle.
