WILLIE Twiston-Davies last night underwent surgery on a broken ankle after a fall at Worcester.

More bad luck for Twiston-Davies

The 16-year-old jockey, son of Gold Cup-winning trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies, was unseated from Ballygulleen at the second fence of the Ladbrokes Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Chase.

Twiston-Davies was initially taken to Worcester Royal Hospital after being diagnosed with a suspected fracture to his left ankle.
