Catcherinscratcher can complete hat-trick

HENRY DE BROMHEAD’S Catcherinscratcher gets the nap in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Novice Hurdle at Killarney this evening.

She has hit a rich vein of form of late and can complete a hat-trick of successes, in what has the makings of a decent contest.

At Listowel in early June the selection won her maiden by ten lengths and then stepped up in class at Tipperary last month.

Catcherinscratcher was very impressive, powering ahead into the straight to beat previous winner, Bingo Lady, by 12 lengths.

There are a couple of dangers but the main one may well be Bullock Harbour who ran away with a flat race, under Conor O’Dwyer, at Bellewstown last week.

Andrew Lynch partners Catcherinscratcher and he and de Bromhead could also take the www.lakehotel.com Handicap Chase with Royal Choice.

This is wide open, but Royal Choice is in good shape, having run a nice sort of race when second to Takeyourcapoff over hurdles at Tramore.

Original Option, having a second outing over fences, can land the Killarney Oaks Hotel Beginners Chase.

His first effort didn’t go too well, making a number of mistakes before being pulled up in a contest won by Miss Mary Mac at Down Royal in June.

Noel Meade’s charge, however, has to go left-handed and is well worth the benefit of the doubt.

He produced a decent effort over flights at Bellewstown a week ago, giving the heavily backed Pozyc 7lbs and a one and three quarter lengths beating.

Sebadee, who battled on strongly to cope with ill-fated Hampshire Express over fences at Tramore, could continue Ken Condon’s terrific form in the McSweeney Arms Hotel Handicap Hurdle.
