Khayar can recoup losses

ERIC McNamara's Khayar looked an unlucky loser when beaten favourite at Ballinrobe on his most recent outing and he can gain some compensation by taking the Summerhill Shopping Centre Handicap at Tramore this evening.

The gelding has been in good form over hurdles this summer but he reverted to the level for the first time in more than a year when a fast-finishing fourth at Ballinrobe on Monday. His race was lost at the start when he conceded considerable ground to his rivals and was always playing catch-up.

If he can get away on terms with the field here, there's every reason to expect a big run and he can prove too strong for Kristal Komet.
