Setback for Bated Breath

NUNTHORPE hope Bated Breath has bruised a foot, while Hungarian star Overdose has been scratched from the Nunthorpe Stakes at York next week.

Bated Breath, the general 7-1 third-favourite for the Coolmore-backed Group 1, finished runner-up to Dream Ahead in the Darley July Cup last time, but now has less than a week to recover from the minor setback.

Trainer Roger Charlton tweeted: “Bated Breath had some bruising in his near fore foot this morning which is being poulticed but I am still hoping he’ll go to York on Friday.”
