Cape Blanco chasing a million

JAMIE SPENCER and Cape Blanco hold a favourite’s chance of landing their second Grade 1 victory together in the States tonight when they team up in the celebrated Arlington Million.

After winning the Irish Derby and Irish Champion Stakes as a three-year-old, Cape Blanco has become Aidan O’Brien’s foremost globe-trotter this term, starting out with a fine effort to make the frame in the Dubai World Cup at Meydan.

O’Brien, who also runs Treasure Beach in the Secretariat Stakes, is bidding for his second Million victory after Powerscourt in 2005.
