British fixture list to be cut by 80

RACING fixtures in Britain will be cut by at least 80 after the British Horseracing Authority decided to cap the number at 1,400.

Publication of the 2012 programme, delayed because of discussions on funding from the Levy Board, will be no later than September 30.

The fixture allocation process has been suspended since early June, but funding is expected to be confirmed at the next Levy Board meeting on September 14 after which the total number will be finalised.
