Punters can get in the black with Green

AIDAN O’BRIEN runs three in the Listed Coolmore Hurricane Run Stakes at Tipperary tonight and one of them, Furner’s Green, can provide the answer.

Punters can get in the black with Green

The Dylan Thomas colt was impressive on his debut on this track last month, providing a real family success with O’Brien’s son, Joseph, in the plate and the winner carrying the colours of his wife, Annemarie.

The selection cruised through the contest, quickening in style inside the furlong pole to score by an easy three lengths.

O’Brien had Battle Of Saratoga and East Meets West in that race as well and they finished second and fourth respectively.

Battle Of Saratoga was beaten three lengths and East Meets West six and three parts, they renew rivalry, and there is no reason to think the placings won’t be confirmed.

The other Listed event on the programme, the Abergwaun Stakes over five furlongs, could be bound for export via the David Barron-trained Group Therapy.

He has twice finished behind Sole Power this season, but wasn’t beaten that far and is now 7lbs better in.

Group Therapy warmed up for this in a Group 2 at Goodwood when third behind Masamah and Amour Propre, enjoying far from a clear run.

The nap vote goes to Naked Cowboy in the first division of the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Handicap.

The four-year-old contested a similar event at Naas last month, finishing half a length second to No Trimmings, when he really should have won.

Naked Cowboy went up just 2lbs for that and can go one better with Ronan Whelan, fresh from a double at Sligo on Wednesday, now in the plate.

Whelan has possibilities of another double, as he also partners Simla Sunset in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Fillies Race.

She’s in good shape right now and will arrive on the back of a half a length defeat of subsequent winner, Joe Eile, in a 15-runner handicap at the Curragh.
