Ruby poised for September return

IRISH Examiner columnist Ruby Walsh is on course to return to the saddle in September after suffering crushed vertebrae in a fall at Killarney.

Ruby poised for September return

The eight times Irish champion jump jockey was hurt in a tumble at Killarney on July 12.

“I’ve had my fair share of serious injuries over the past few years,” said Walsh, who is sporting a neck brace.

“They say they come in threes, so hopefully that’s it for me. I hope to have the brace off in four to six weeks and then, after a bit of physio, I should be ready to go.”
