Broadstrand has Champion look
Last year Dolores Ruth captured the event with Makeshift and she is double-handed this evening with litter brothers Razldazl Jayfkay and Kingo.
Of her two runners Razldazl Jayfkay is the more fancied. He has established himself as one of the fastest in training andwill start favourite this evening.
He has much in his favour including a trap five draw. If the son of Kinloch Brae can turn in front it will take something special to reel him in.
Kingo is perhaps better suited by a little further and needs to make one of his best starts from trap four.
One greyhound capable of ruining the Dolores Ruth party is Broadstrand Lad. John Linehan’s dog has been one of the outstanding performers around Shelbourne Park this year and if he makes one of his better starts he could make a bold bid.
Uncle Eoin will also have plenty of support following his stunning semi-final effort.
Tyrur Domingo and Colorful Champ complete the line up and, while both will be available at bigger prices, they are both capable of mounting a bold bid.
It should be a terrific spectacle with slight preference going to Broadstrand Lad to get the better of Razldazl Jayfkay.
On the undercard the Graham Holland-trained Meadow View Owl can follow up a superb semi-final effort in the final of the Champion Plate. Tyrur Henry is a likely leader, but Meadow View Owl possesses incredible pace from the second turn and can assert in the latter stages. Both finals will be streamed on the live player on rte.ie between 9pm and 10pm.
At Thurles the semi-finals of the Thurles Fresh Milk Tipperary Cup look hugely competitive. Glideaway Ace could be the one to beat in the second semi-final, while a favourable draw on the fence could see Big Appetite win the opening heat.
