Hughes is due to take the plum ride on Canford Cliffs as he faces a showdown with 2000 Guineas and St James’s Palace Stakes winner Frankel in the mile feature.

However, after the rider missed the July meeting at Newmarket due to a suspension, Hughes was not prepared to have to sit out the action as Canford Cliffs bids to extend his five-race unbeaten streak.
