Attitude in good form for Galway Plate Trial

THE good form in the stable has continued in the past week and, if anything, got even better, with five winners in 14 runners from yesterday week up to before racing last night. If we could keep that percentage up we’d be very happy indeed but we know it’s unrealistic in the long run.

Attitude in good form for Galway Plate Trial

It started off with Glamorous beating Jumbo Rio at the Curragh on Friday in conditions that she would have loved, even if it was more like national hunt weather than summer flat weather. But that’s the way she likes it and Fran was delighted with her. So was my most difficult owner – my husband – and it looks like now that he got another bargain when buying her in France last December. I was a little worried coming back so quick from her second the previous week and the subsequent increase by 4lbs but it wasn’t a problem. She’s up another 9lbs now for that.

Dundrum was third in the Apprentice Derby and I was delighted for Kevin Sexton, who did really well and was thrilled by that. I’ll find another flat race for Dundrum but his target is the Galway Plate.
