Codemaster out on his own

JERSEY STAKES hope Codemaster is likely to be Henry Candy’s only runner at Royal Ascot next week but he fears that those horses wishing to sidestep a clash with the mighty Frankel could make this a very tough race.

“I may just have the grand total of one Royal Ascot runner. A lot of people will be avoiding Frankel, so the Jersey will be a hot race,” said Candy.

“He’s a tough sort and Dane O’Neill said he worked very well the other day. He said he’s as broad as he is high now. We’ll see how he gets on.”
