ST NICHOLAS ABBEY looks set to bid for a third Group One win in next month’s King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot.

Aidan O’Brien’s four-year-old landed the Racing Post Trophy as a juvenile but endured a nightmare Classic season, making just one start when disappointing in the 2000 Guineas.

However, he went some way to righting the record with a gutsy victory over the top-class Midday in the Coronation Cup at Epsom last week.
