Eagle can get off mark over fences

ALPINE EAGLE, useful on the flat and over flights, can enjoy a first success over fences in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Beginners Chase at Ballinrobe tonight.

He made a promising enough start at Killarney two weeks ago and, hopefully, Jessica Harrington’s charge can now build on that.

The seven-year-old finished third behind Big Dano and Meritorious, after going off a somewhat uneasy favourite.
