Midday set to meet the boys

TOM Queally is looking forward to seeing multiple Group 1-winning mare Midday pit her wits against the boys in next Friday’s Coronation Cup at Epsom.

Henry Cecil’s five-year-old looked as good as ever when giving weight and a comprehensive beating to Sajjhaa in the Middleton Stakes at York earlier this month.

Speaking in his column on www.racinguk.com, Queally said: “She’s come out of the race at York really well.

“She was not working as well as she can before the Middleton, but is absolutely bouncing now and has a good a chance as any against the colts.”

The Aidan O’Brien-trained St Nicholas Abbey, who bounced back to form in thrilling fashion when running away with the Ormonde Stakes at Chester, is also amongst the entries.
