Frankel and Caviar best in the world

NEWMARKET 2000 Guineas winner Frankel and unbeaten Australian sprinter Black Caviar have been ranked the joint-best racehorses in the world this year.

The Henry Cecil-trained Frankel earned an official mark of 130 for his Newmarket demolition of a Classic field that included subsequent Irish 2000 Guineas winner Roderic O’Connor and runner-up Dubawi Gold.

The Peter Moody-trained Black Caviar, who recently stretched her unbeaten record to 13 (making it six Group 1 victories on the bounce) was awarded the same figure for her win in the Newmarket Handicap at Flemington on March 12.

Tattersalls Gold Cup winner So You Think sits four pounds back on 126, while Canford Cliffs earned a mark of 125 for his recent Lockinge victory.
