Maqaasid in fine form for French test

JOHN GOSDEN’S Maqaasid finished a fine third behind Blue Bunting in the Newmarket 1,000 Guineas earlier in the month and her trainer is hoping this tough filly can gain some compensation in tomorrow’s French equivalent.

Angus Gold, racing manager to owner Hamdan Al Maktoum, said: “John is obviously happy with her to be running her again so quickly. She seems in good form.

“She’s drawn 14 of 16, which probably won’t be ideal, but you take what you get. With a bit of luck in running, she should go close.”
