CANFORD Cliffs is set for his clash with Twice Over after the pair remained among a field of 11 at the five-day stage of this weekend’s JLT Lockinge Stakes at Newbury.

Richard Hannon, trainer of Canford Cliffs, has long had the Group One in mind as a starting point for a colt who starred in the Irish 2000 Guineas, St James’s Palace and Sussex Stakes last term.

Hannon has also included stablemate and regular rival Dick Turpin, who won the bet365 Mile at Sandown in impressive fashion from another Lockinge entry, Cityscape.
