Whip review by October

The British Horseracing Authority has revealed that a full review into possible changes to the use of the whip will be published by October.

The BHA has approved a timescale for necessary research, statistical analysis and consultation to produce what they feel will be the best outcome for racing.

Jamie Stier, BHA Director of Raceday Operations and Regulation, said: “We should not lose sight of the fact that Britain has led the way amongst major racing nations in its rules on acceptable whip use and on the introduction of the cushioned whip.
