Get in step with Dance Secretary
The selection created a very favourable impression on her debut at Leopardstown back in July.
Dance Secretary raced out the back for the most part, but was noted doing good late work to finish a neck and a length and three parts third behind Kissable and Palinode.
The form has been working out nicely, with Kissable going on to finish third behind Together in a Group 3 at Leopardstown and then third also to Misty For Me in the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh.
As well as that Spin (fourth), Inca Princess (fifth) and Sapphire (sixth), behind Dance Secretary at Leopardstown, all won subsequently.
The ground is going to ride on the soft side, but that should hold no fears for Oxx’s inmate, considering she is by Danehill Dancer.
The Students’ Of Limerick Race may be best left to David Wachman’s Shelley Beach, who has the benefit of an outing already this season.
That came at the Curragh last month, in testing conditions, when she was a short head and three lengths third to Defining Year and Adilapour.
Defining Year did not let the side down at the Curragh on Sunday, beaten a length into second by Sing Softly in a Listed event.
Dermot Weld’s Walking On Water is the choice in the Spin Southwest Student Raceday Maiden.
The son of Galileo ran with promise first time up when seventh of 16 behind Aidan O’Brien’s Exodus at Navan in October and can be expected to build on that.
The mud-loving Captainofthefleet is the one to beat in the Limerick Run Maiden, although not seen since half a length runner-up to another O’Brien inmate, Rocket Man, at the Curragh almost a year ago.
Confidence in his ability to do the job would obviously increase should he prove strong in the market.
