OSCARS WELL is likely to head up a strong team for trainer Jessica Harrington at the Cheltenham Festival.

The County Kildare trainer has tasted Cheltenham glory with Moscow Flyer in the past and holds big chances this year with Oscars Well in the Neptune Investment Management Novices’ Hurdle and Bostons Angel in the RSA Chase.

Both horses advertised their Festival claims by winning their second Grade Ones of the season at Leopardstown’s rearranged meeting on Saturday, while Saludos also took the Flyingbolt Novice Chase at Navan on Sunday.

“All the horses have come home fine, with not a bother on them,” said a delighted Harrington.

“It was a great weekend and I’ve never known one like it.

“Oscars Well was never off the bridle and never looked in any trouble. He’s actually won twice over two and a half miles before this weekend so my one worry was bringing him back in trip to two-two.

“He handles soft ground well but he’s a very good moving horse so quicker ground will not be a worry for him at all.

“People keep bringing up the fact that he disappointed at the Punchestown Festival but he’d been a sick horse before he ran there and he just hadn’t come back to himself in time.

“I’m certainly not worried about the ground.

“Bostons Angel is out in the field now. he’s bucking and kicking and you wouldn’t know he’d had a race.

“The thing with him is that he doesn’t do a lot in front. He’ll never win by far but he keeps finding and he’s won two Grade Ones now so you can’t argue with that.

“He jumps really well and stays,- he looks to have all you need in an RSA horse.

“I haven’t put Saludos in any of the Cheltenham novice events so he’s not certain to go there.

“If he does, he could go for the Grand Annual but that is certainly not a definite at this moment in time. He certainly wouldn’t go on good ground, there would have to be some cut.”
