Murphy happy with Big Zeb preparation

PUNCHESTOWN will host a top quality seven-race card this Sunday, featuring the Grade 2 Boylesports.com Chase.

Among the entries are the current two mile champion chaser, Big Zeb, Sizing Europe and Golden Silver.

Big Zeb will be seeking to repeat his victory in the same race last year. Trainer, Colm Murphy, said “Last year a couple of things didn’t go to plan, so we felt we were playing catch-up in our preparation, but this time around I’m pleased with the way things are going.

“Big Zeb is in great form and we couldn’t be happier. We will pop him over a few schooling fences and fingers crossed he will run well on Sunday.’

Henry de Bromhead announced earlier in the week that Sizing Europe will take a step back in trip and run in Sunday’s race. Commented de Bromhead: “Sizing hasn’t had a run since the JNWine Chase at Down Royal and is fresh and well.

“We are looking forward to getting a run into him at Punchestown, because it is a course that he likes and may give us an indication of where to aim at next. At present we are keeping our options open.”

nThere will be a Tote Pick Six rollover of €14,755.50 at Punchestown.
