Silver’s turn to strike

SILVER TURN was limited to just one start as a juvenile but she is making up for lost time now and can strike gold in the Enhanced SP’s At bluesq.com Handicap at Wolverhampton.

Silver’s turn to strike

The Shamardal filly finished a fair fourth in a moderate maiden event at Catterick after missing the break last year, giving trainer Bryan Smart a little bit of encouragement for this year.

She then repeated that trick when tried on the all-weather for the first time earlier this month, getting a bit left behind before swiftly making up the ground.

Silver Turn then travelled well throughout and eventually came home two lengths clear without her jockey really having to hit top gear.

That win sees her switch to handicap company and an initial mark of 77 looks highly workable and given that she is so unexposed, Silver Turn could be anything.

Mashdood can strike gold for the first time in his career in the Felbridge Handicap at Lingfield.

With just nine races under his belt so far, the five-year-old has been campaigned very sparingly and remains on the lowest mark of his short career.

However, a narrow second over two miles at Southwell shows there is some ability there and tackling that trip again, Mashdood confidence should be riding a little higher.

Collect Art will appreciate the step back up in trip in the lingfieldpark.co.uk Handicap.

Dropped back to seven furlongs last time, he was staying on at the finish without having the necessary extra gear to trouble the front two. A mile is much more his forte though, so he is one to watch.

Kathleens Pride merits plenty of respect as he goes back over fences in the SIS Live Handicap Chase at Chepstow.

The 11-year-old has not stood that much racing but after a recent winning return over hurdles, he will primed for the switch of codes again.
