Walsh on schedule to return before Cheltenham
Said Walsh: “I met with Dr David Moore today and he was very happy, the fractures in my leg are healing particularly well.”
Walsh has been on the sidelines since taking a crashing fall off the Tony Martin-trained Corrick Bridge in a handicap chase at Down Royal on November 6.
He suffered tibia and fibula fractures to his right leg and was expected to be on the injured list for anything up to four months.
Continuing Walsh reported: “I am due to return to Dr Moore in four weeks time and the plan then is to take the frame off my leg.
“I should to be back riding in races in the middle to late February and, hopefully, it will be a case of all guns blazing for Cheltenham after that.”
