Fairyhouse postponed for a third time

AS expected Fairyhouse has fallen foul of the weather and it’s triple Grade 1 card scheduled for tomorrow has again been cancelled.

This is the third postponement and the meeting has now been rescheduled for next Wednesday, December 15. Manager, Peter Roe, was pessimistic all week and his worst fears were realised yesterday morning when the track continued to be covered in snow.

Navan on Sunday has also bitten the dust, after having some nine inches of snow on the track through the week.

That programme was to have housed a Grade 1 novice hurdle and the race will now be incorporated in the card scheduled for Navan on tomorrow week. There will also be racing at Navan on Sunday week.

Clonmel was due to race next Wednesday, but that card has been moved back a day to Thursday to facilitate Fairyhouse.

Today’s cancelled meeting at Gowran Park has been rescheduled for Wednesday, December 22.

The fixture list for the coming days is as follows:

* Sunday: Cork

* Monday: Cork

* Tuesday: Punchestown

* Wednesday: Fairyhouse

* Thursday: Clonmel

* Friday: Downpatrick

* Saturday: Navan

* Sunday: Navan, Thurles.
