Longer trip looks ideal for Flic Flac
The progressive daughter of Bahamian Bounty produced her best performance to date at Naas last time and is clearly going the right way.
She went off a well-backed favourite then and looked the likely winner for most of the six furlongs. In the end, however, she was run out of it and beaten a length and a quarter by John Oxx’s Redskin Dancer.
The fact the third was a further five and a half lengths away was encouraging and, stepping up a furlong and from a good draw, Flic Flac can at least go close.
Feature event is the Listed Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Cooley Fillies Stakes and the fact Marco Botti’s English challenger, Mosqueras Romance, cannot travel due to the bad weather opens up the contest.
Perhaps, it may pay to take a chance on Kevin Prendergast’s progressive Alsalwa, who displayed a good attitude when beating Anam Chara at Dundalk three weeks ago.
Ger Lyons has a terrific recond at this track and his The Reaper can shrug off top weight in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Nursery. He got off the mark with a vengeance here last month, shooting clear to score by four and a half lengths.
