Carberry bounces back

PETERJON Carberry ended the weekend with a timely fillip when Viscount Rossini struck at Market Rasen yesterday.

Carberry bounces back

Carberry, the youngest brother of established riders Paul, Philip and Nina, cut a dejected figure 24 hours earlier when thumped with a 10-day suspension for failing to ride out on Maurisca at Sandown.

The promising rider was all smiles in Lincolnshire, however, as he showed a commendable strength of character to get Steve Gollings’ eight-year-old home in the Racing Excellence “Hands And Heels” Handicap Hurdle.

Gollings said: “It was a bad day for Peter on Saturday but I said to him to get it out of the way and move on. He’s a good lad and has got the right pedigree.”
