Don Carlos looks good

DON CARLOS can land the nap in the Buy A Racing Post Bonus Yearling Race at Dundalk tonight.

The Galileo colt was out of form in two runs earlier in the campaign, but returned in good shape at Navan nine days ago.

Partnered by Johnny Murtagh on that occasion — Joseph O’Brien now takes over — he quickened nicely in the closing stages to beat the year older Choose Me by a comfortable length and aquarter.

Don Carlos is a very fresh horse and there is every possibility will improve plenty for that Navan outing.

Murtagh now finds himself aboard Fighting Brave. But that is difficult enough to fancy, coming back from an absence of 133 days.

Roman Flame, blinkered for the first time, is the hopeful choice in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Fillies Maiden.

It’s a contest which won’t take a lot of winning and the selection should go close, on the bare form of her two lengths second to Posh Cracker on this track.

Hold The Aces, seventh of seven on his latest appearance, may crop up in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Maiden for colts and geldings.

He filled that berth behind the smart Casamento in the Group 2 Juddmonte Beresford Stakes at the Curragh and now has his sights considerably lowered.
