Side with Hidden Universe

HIDDEN UNIVERSE is a reasonably confident nap choice to land the two mile October Maiden at Navan this afternoon.

Dermot Weld’s four-year-old is a horse with a lot of potential and may well take high order as a novice hurdler this season.

His record thus far is three bumper successes in four attempts, the only blot on the record was when disappointing at the Cheltenham Festival.

He was back on track, however, at Punchestown in April when landing the Paddy Power Champion Bumper by two lengths from Oilily.

That form received a timely boost at Tipperary last Sunday when Oilily was an impressive winner of a competitive hurdle race.

Aidan O’Brien’s once-raced Table Mountain gets the nod in the Irish Stallion Farms' EBF Maiden.

He finished fourth behind Ezali at the Curragh and has a little to find with Eighteen Summers (second) and Faranadooney (third). But the son of Milan has a lot of scope for improvement and is readily preferred.

Kevin Prendergast’s Choose Me has the best of the weights in the Newgrange Race, but doesn’t win very often, which is an obvious worry.

She has, however, been contesting better class races than this and ten furlongs and soft ground are the perfect ingredients to see her home in front.
